# Run for The Yard

This year The Yard has been overwhelmed by the huge support we have received from people who want to take on crazy challenges in order to raise money for The Yard.

This weekend saw over 45 people lace up their running shoes and doIMG_3462n their bright yellow Yard vests to tackle various distances in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival 2016. The sea of runners was an incredible sight and it was awesome to see so many Yard vests running past.

It was brilliant to be there and to meet so many people who had worked so hard for us. You can see from the pictures smiles were plentiful! This year was the biggest year for The Yard at the EMF, and it was definitely the best year too!

We are still totting up how much our fab fundraisers have raised at the EMF this year but it’s sure to be an amazing figure. The total will be posted on social media once the final donationss are in…

It’s not only the EMF that people are taking part in this year, we have lots of other supporters taking part in amazing yet crazy challenges for The Yard in 2016.

Leigh McArthur took part in the 10k AND the relay at the EMF on Saturday, however this was only one of ten events she has planned for the year! She writes about her challenges and why she chose The Yard in her blog https://whosaysthisgirlcant.wordpress.com/ , it’s an inspirational read. marie hernandez

We also have Marie Hernandez who has taken on the challenge of running 500 miles this year for The Yard. She has also recruited her two little boys to join in on the running mania and it looks like they’re all having a blast.

These are only a few stories of Yard supporters who have gone the extra mile, figuratively and literally for The Yard!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our supporters who are raising money for The Yard and really pushing themselves to do something extraordinary. The EMF 2016 was a brilliant weekend, and we can’t wait for next year.
